Few WOW moments yesterday!!
Yesterday was just chock full of WOW moments... it was nice!!!
I went out with friends to dinner & a movie for the first time since surgery (the dinner part anyway). We went to my fav Italian restaurant & I found it very easy to find something to eat & it was fabulous... I have leftover Eggplant Rollatina for 2 more meals - at least!!!
I fit comfortably in the movie theater seats... with my big bulky coat still on!!!! If it weren't for my tailbone aching (less padding) it would've been awesome!! It was great nonetheless!!
The best ones had to do with seatbelts!! The seatbelt in my brother's car never really reached no matter what we tried but lo & behold, yesterday morning it fit!!! I even left my coat zipped up so it fit around me & my big ol' coat!!! The other seatbelt one was in one of my friend's 4x4 truck!!! I could never get the darn thing to fit welll... it did - we both exclaimed in glee like little school girls!!!! I even climbed up into it with no problems!!!! WOO HOO!!
I've already had to move my car seat up quite a bit - my foot actually covers the gas pedal now!!! I can't wait to lower the tilt wheel & get rid of the seatbelt extender!!!
See... it really is the little things in life!!!! AWESOME!!!
Congratuations on your WOW moments...you deserve them. I can relate to the seat belt thing. Before my surgery I had major trouble buckling my seat belt over my winter coat...now, its easy. I also have moved my seat in the car up...and its much more relaxing to drive. And I had a chuckle the other day when it was so icy out....I was a little leery about falling under the car....HEY...I could fit under the car now...hehehe.

Thanks Michelle. I have always dreaded going to the movies because you just never know how comfy the seats will be!! The next big test are those god-awful seats at The Pepsi Areana (oops, sorry Times Union Center)!! I went to a Tim McGraw concert & came home with bruises on my stomach from the seats, that's how wedged in & uncomfortable I was!!! It wasn't bad enough the sound sucked but I had to endure the pain of the seats too!!!
Dinner was awesome!! One of my most favorite Italian restaurants in my area!!! I absolutely LOVE eggplant & this was fabulous!! Full of cheese & most of all not fried!!! Not heavy with protein but I had tuna for lunch so I was prepared!!! The best part was I got 3 meals out of it and it tasted so much better the next day!! It took me this long to get the nerve up to go out to dinner!!! I was pleasantly surprised!!! It's all about making the right choices!!
Oh yeah - moving the car seat is a BIG deal!!! I was so excited about that one too!!! Once winter is over & the big bulky coats are gone it'll be time to test the tilt-steering!!! If I can lower that then I know I have arrived!!!
You are doing great!! Keep it up!!

Thanks Karen!!! It has been an awesome journey so far & it can only get better!!! I went through the big pile of clothes I had here & tried on all of the shirts/tops the other night!! I went from feeling like, "Yeah, I've got all kinds of clothes to wear as I lose weight" to "Crap, I only have these & what am I going to do when their too big?"!! It was funny... eventually!!! The best part was that most of these things were from the last time I lost a significant amount of weight (50lbs) when I was about 25-26 yrs old!! The sad part... that was 15 yrs ago & how in the world did I gain 115lbs in that amount of time?!! Ok, I know how but it was the reality setting in!!!
Like I said... it is an amazing journey!!! I think we discover as much as we lose!!
You go Cece!!!!
It has been almost a year and a half since my surgery and almost 145lbs gone!! I have wow moments every day! I appreciate all the little things like going up the stairs with out being out of breath, bending to put on my shoes each morning, fitting in chairs, booths, public restroom stalls, oh and wait for airline seats;-) It has truly been such a great journey for me and I hope you enjoy the same. I hope I aways continue to have wow moments for the rest of my life!!!!
