My name is Sue, I am 48 years old, live in Queens with my husband of 21 years and my two teenaged sons, one in college and one graduating from high school this year. I had my WLS in April 2006 and as so many have said, it was the best thing I ever did after my children.  I am very active and healthy now. I had a lower body lift and brachioplasty on Jan 9th so am still recuperating from that. I find that the further out I get the harder it is to keep up with OH, but I come back and read the forums and am so proud of everyone that comes through here. Sue Next?

You have to stay in shape. My grandmother, she started walking five miles a day when she was 60. She's 97 today and we don't know where the hell she is. - Ellen DeGeneres

Great idea, I love getting to know everyone! My name is Flo, I'm 41 yrs. old, been married to a wonderful guy for 9 yrs, and we have an 8 yr. old son who is the absolute joy of my life.  I'm a full-time Mom and wife(can't see the "stay-at-home label cuz I'm never home!) and I volunteer a couple of days a week at my son's school.  I had open RNY on November 5th 2007 and everything has been going really well for me.  I'm happy with my weight loss(57 lbs.) so far; I definitely need to kick up the exercise a little more and I'm hoping it will get easier as I lose more weight.  I've got some pretty bad foot problems which makes the exercise tough, but I do the best I can.  The decision to have this surgery wasn't an easy one, but it's definitely been a good one and I'd do it again in a heartbeat!  OH has been a Godsend for me, the ppl here are just great and you can't ask for better support. Flo

What a great idea this is!!! My name is Sally and I live in the Southern Tier of WNY.   I am 46 yo.  I am divorced after being married for 26 years and mother of three adult children,  26, 23 and almost 21.   My youngest daughter and I both had gastric bypass surgery this year.  Jessica had her surgery March 29th and has lost 150lbs.  She is a full time student at SUNY Fredonia also.  She has found it a challenge to attend and live on campus and be able to eat properly but she manages.   I had my surgery May 16th and have lost 103lbs. so far.  I would like to loose another 40lbs yet.    I made it to onederland today.........YIPEEEE.     I work full time as a 911 dispatcher for the county.    I feel great and love being off all the medications I was on pre-operatively.    I still do not like to exercise but make myself do it.     Wish I would have done this three years ago but the time just wasn't right then.  Sally

Hello out there!  My name is Bonny, I am 41 years old (soon to be 42) and just celebrated my 19th wedding aniversary.  On February 21st I will be celebrating my 3rd year of WLS. (One of my greatest achievements). I am the mom of a 17 & 16 year old both looking to be a police officer like their Dad.  My 13 year old daughter keeps me young and I have so much fun shopping with her and trying on clothes.  She keeps a close eye on me to make sure that I don't lose anymore weight since her feeling is "the mom shouldn't be thinner than the daughter".  I think she just likes to borrow my clothes.  I am an account executive for a foodbroker so I spend alot of time in restaurants and pizza shops selling them cheese and pepperoni, chicken fingers and wings.  UGH! I have to be in control of my eating at all times because the food is always available.  And everyone is always offering a slice of "the best pizza".... I love life and starting it in my 40's hasn't been as bad as I thought.

My name is Lili and I am 27.  I have a beautiful son named Nicholas and he is 2 and a half and he is my life.  I live with him and my boyfriend of 4 years in Long Island, NY.  I had gastric by-pass on Jan 2nd and I have lost 40 pounds so far so not too bad.  This is the best thing I have ever done for myself.  I feel so much better and sleep is no longer a problem.  Who knew if I had lost some weight I wouldn’t have insomnia anymore….it is the best!!!  I love being able to go up a flight of stairs and not be out of breath anymore.  I do have to start on my exercising and soon so that should be fun!!  Nice getting to know all of you!

Hi Everone! What a great idea- to get to know each other. I am lovingheart- and I am 34 years old- I just celebrated my 10th anniversary- (to a wonderful /hardworking husband) We have a 15 year old daughter and we have a 6 year old little girl- Which they all are light of my life- We live south of buffalo-about 45 min or more I was looing into the gastric bypass back in 2005, and decided not to have it done. I am now looking into to haveing WLS done at this time- I am unsure of what doctor as well as i am unsure if the lap band or the gastric would be the best for me. I am  hoping to have wls this year- I am looking for as much information as possible- with as much support that I can get- I am looking forward to getting to know all of you- Thanks
