Hello Everyone. Getting to Know you!
First I want to say hello to all my old friends here. Second I want to welcome all the newbies here and third I want to say congrats to all that have just had their surgery.....
Now this is a post that i toss up every now and then to just get to know one another better without having to read all the profiles.
My name is LisaMarie. I am 36 married with 4 children ...ages 16, soon to be 13 , 6 and 5.. I had my gastric bypass Halloween of 2005. I lost aprox 85-90 pounds depending on the week. I fluctuate withing about a 5 pound area. I reached my goal weight at 10mths post op. January of 2007 I had my tummy tuck which i was able to have due to another medical issue.
I used to spend lots of time here but since loosing the weight life has taken over. I dont get on as much as i would like. I owe so much to these boards however for getting me to where i am today. I have met so many wonderful people on this journey, most right here. This surgery was the best thing I have ever done for myself and my family. That is me briefly...Looking forward to reading about all of you...
Ok who is next, i have to get back to work lol....

Hi LisaMarie,
My name is Gina (GinaMarie actually lol) I am 36 married to my wonderful husband for almost 15 years. I have a 13 son who will be 14 on Valentines day and an 11 year old son.
I had gastric bypass last week so I am still healing, I think I am doing well haven't driven yet cause I am still a tad too sore.
Ok so that is about all.
who's next?
Hi Lisa Marie!
I'm Diane and had my lap RNY on March 19, '07. It will be coming up on a year which is so hard to believe for me. I am 54 yrs. old( I do not feel like this number at all!!!!!) and married for 30 years to a really good hearted and supportive guy. I have 2 adult children...a 29 yr. old boy and a 27 yr. old girl. My daughter was married right before my surgery and my son will be getting married next summer. What a difference buying a Mother's gown will be this time around.
I lost 80 lbs. on my last weigh-in and it doesn't seem like I'll ever reach my goal weight by a year. I feel great, though, and that accounts for something I suppose.
This board has been a real life saver for me when no one else gad a clue what I was going through. I have met the best people here, too. If it wasn't for this board, I would never had the chance to seek support from my friends at the LIPO ( Long Island Post Ops) group.
Oh yes. I am the mother of the most awesome pupster. She is my walking pal every day. How could I forget that??? LOL

Hi! My name is Lisa and I am a 43 year old Registered Nurse. I have been married to my husband Tony for 17 years as of February 17. I have 2 beautiful daughters, Victoria, age 12, and Marisa, age 8. I also have a 3 year old Jack Russell Terrier named Bailey.
I had my gastric bypass on 9/11/07 and have lost 75 pounds and over 22 inches!! I have 60 more pounds to lose to reach my goal and I feel better then I have in years. I love being a part of this forum and attending my monthly LIPO meeting. They have both been a great source of support to me during the past 4 1/2 months.
That's me in a nutshell! Who's next?

My turn... I'm a Lisa too (seems like there's a bunch of us here)...
I'm 40 years old, have been married to a wonderfuly supportive husband for 11 years this June. We have no children but do have 2 rescued Dalmatians named Carter and Oreo. My favorite pass time is to rubber stamp and make home made cards and gifts. I even have my own stamp room which is my happy place.
I just had my surgery last week (Friday to be exact) so like GinaMarie I'm still in the healing phase. Before surgery I lost 33.5 lbs on the Medifast liquid diet.
I love this forum and already have met some very supportive people. I will be here for a while.
My main concerns is that I hope I'm not eating too much. I've had a little more than a 1/2 cup of soup since my surgery. I'm thinking that because it's so liquid and not so dense and bulky that's why I'm able to eat a little more. Tonight for dinner I had a scoop of cottage cheese and about 1/2 of the snack size apple sauce. Wish me luck getting this food thing down..
Ok, whose next...

Hi everybody,
I am Maryellen. Had the Gastric Bypas 18 months ago (the honeymoon is now officially over...YIKES!!!) I've lost 120 lbs and am at goal. I am looking into plastic surgery, but still uncertain mostly because of the amount of recuperation time and the nature of my job. (I know I really shouldn't make that matter, I quess I'm too committed) Anyway, I have 2 beautiful awesome daughters, Carolyn that will be 20 in June and Giovanna 15. I am also a part-time student pursing a degree in business.
I am very grateful to truly feel like I am LIVING again, its been a long long time! I am also thankful for the OH forum, particularly the NY Forum, and I have had the pleasure of meeting several people from here. Also, I began my own group LIPO and asked Karen I. to be my coleader. After the birth of my daughters, it is one of my greatest accomplishments thus far. We have 48 registered members. Thank you for all who participate, we truly need each other, more than you probably realize. NOTHING OR NOBODY CAN DESTROY US, ONLY MAKE US BETTER and stronger!!!
I hope to eventually meet more of the great people on this forum. LisaMarie, will you be planning a party again?
Thanks for the posting.
Maryellen

HI!!!
I'm Cece - 41 yrs old & single. I work for the State (yup go ahead - I've heard all of the jokes but I can assure you I am state "worker" not just an "employee" so your tax dollars are well spent... on me anyway!!
) - I've been there almost 21yrs... YIKES - how'd that happen?!!
I had lap rny on 10/22/07 & have lost over 113lbs (& over 40 inches) so far!!! I still have about 160lbs to go but I don't think about that - I am enjoying the changes so far!! I have been blessed in the fact that I have not had any problems really to speak of so far (did I just jinx myself? god I hope not!!
). I am very grateful to finally have had the courage to take this step!! Life is going to be so much better now!!!
I am also thankful that I found such wonderful, supportive people here!! You guys rock!!!!

Nice idea as usual, LM! I'm Amy, I'm 45 years old, post op about 1 1/2 years and have lost 130 pounds. I guess this is my goal because weight loss has stopped. I look so much better and feel a million times better than when I started. I thought I would get about 20 pounds lower but I am happy to accept this weight at my goal. I am recently separated and believe that part of the 130 pounds was due to a very unhappy marriage. It has been a hard time separating from a 16 year marriage, but I really do believe that I'm better off for it.
I am a visiting nurse, in school getting my master's degree to become an adult nurse practitioner and raising 2 boys as a single mom. Never a dull moment, but I am fully living and very grateful for the opportunity that WLS has given me to reclaim my life and myself.
Who's next?
