I would consider going, but I'm a lap-bander--is this just for RNY people?

FOR A LISTING OF ALL WLS SUPPORT GROUPS AT ALBANY MED, CALL 262-2195 WLS SUPPORT GROUP INFORMATION LINE OR THE BARIATRIC SURGEON'S OFFICE @ 262-0942 and ask for more information on the meetings, locations, times, who leads the meetings, etc.
There are general wls surgery support meetings (for both surgeries and open to public and loved ones showing support) 2x per month @ night and 2x per month during the day. There is ONE lap band support meeting per month. I also believe once a month they have a support group meeting for 1yr or more post-ops, too. But you would have to call Albany Med @ the above phone#s to get more info. I have been to both the evening general WLS surgery support groups and the lap band and I find them both very informative, inspiring, and overall very educational. It is such a welcome place to feel like you finally feel surrounded by people who understand your situation and who are living through the journey as well. They are all great support groups. Try to go as much as you can. They are a great help.
