So my surgery is in 11 days and each and every minute feels like a million hours. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to get through this next week and a half? I know I can do it, and I know the time will come soon enough it just feels like FOREVER !!!!

And, do you have any suggestions on preparing for the surgery... Was there anything you did that you think I too may benefit from?

congrats on your upcoming surgery.  I read lots of books while I waited and really organized my house while I waited for "my day" to come. Hang in there!  my suggestion - stay healthy and stay away from anyone who 'may' have a cold :(

Nothing - tastes as good as it feels -to be at my ideal weight :)

Congrats on your upcoming surgery!! The time will fly - trust me!!! It's been 12 weeks for me today & I can't believe how fast this time has flown!!! I spent the last 2 weeks before surgery getting my house cleaned; laundry done - everything like sheets, towels etc; I made sure I had all of the foods (or liquids) I was going to need already in the house & also all of the supplements I was going to need too!!! I live alone so I had to make sure it was going to be as easy for me to be alone after surgery as possible. I had my surgery on a monday & was home weds afternoon & my sisters came up that weekend to stay with me... one of my brothers lives locally so he was only a few minutes away if I needed him. Luckily it all worked out & I had no issues!!! I had a dog at the time & I had to make sure she was able to be boarded.  I know there are lists of things to bring with you for surgery but I'll tell you the only things I used were my chapstick, crossword puzzle book (& that was only weds morning while I was waiting for Dr Clarke to come in & remove my port & send me home!!!). Wear the same clothes in that you will wear home... loose fitting, elastic waist pants, slip on shoes & oh yeah - forget the bra... that just wasn't going to happen - there is incision that is in the same area the bra would've been & it would not have been a good thing!!! I brought slippers but didn't use them - I used the socks they give us... they were warm & non-slip!!  You will get a private room - Ellis always gives their bariatric patients private rooms - I had a hold-up getting out of recovery because they were having trouble finding a private room for me... go figure!! It turned out I got a pediatric suite... nice!!  So other than all of this just try to relax & enjoy the last few days you have!!! You will be in surgery before you know it!!! And I'll tell you they surgery team is wonderful!!!  Good luck!!!! If you need anything just give me a shout!!!

Yes, I agree with Cece...the time will fly..and she did a wonderful job with giving you the scoop on what to do to be prepared.  Just a reminder not to overdo when you get home.  Rosemary

It has totally amazed me at how time went so slow before surgery and how fast it has gone since.  It's crazy!  I do remember those days and coudn't wait for my surgery date to get there fast enough so I hear ya!  Blessings on your journey!
