Home 3 days now
Its been 3 days since I came home from the hospital, and luckily, I am bouncing back pretty quickly. I was sent home with pain meds, but have not needed any thus far. The major problems I am having is that I can't get comfortable to get a decent nights sleep,
and any little bit of activity (such as going to PO to get my mail) exhausts me. Also, I can't seem to consume the required amount of liquids. I have absolutely no appetite what-so-ever. My surgeon suggested my liquids be warm to hot, then I may be able to consume more, which I have tried but to no avail. I just feel full beyond capacity. Is this normal post-op?
On a good note, I did run into a friend at the post office who did not know I was having the surgery and asked if I lost weight because she sees it in my face!
Also, I do not feel as bloated as I had been prior to surgery.

Yes, you are experiencing normal things. I was exhausted for at least 6 weeks after my surgery. Don't overdo...and you might want to take a painkiller before bed for a few days...I found it helpful in getting a good night's sleep. My appetite was very depressed for months and I also had trouble with the liquids...but, it improves...just do the best you can.
