For your mothers sake it is good that these Plastic Surgeons did not perform beyond their comfort/scope/expertise. IF any Plastic Surgery is paid by insurance (usually ONLY the Panniculectomy if anything), which is removal of hanging skin in front, apron only (hip to hip), the rest is typically not covered. Proving medical necessity is the key IF there are no clauses NOt to cover. Things like pain, rashes, hygiene issue and life limiting factors (not usually psychological though sadly). Here is a site to look for NY Plastic surgeons and maybe ask the OH PS board or these others. My PS is well experienced with post bariatric body contouring, www.albanyplasticsurgeons.com Dr. King

Calling insurance for referral is also a good recommendation as previously posted. Sadly self pay is more and more the only option many have finding an experienced PS who is comfortable with your mom is the first step! Any other ? email me [email protected]
