My 1 Foot of Snow WOW moment...
Ok, for those of you not in the Capital District area of our great state you may not know we got hit with about a foot of snow overnight... and not the light, fluffy crap either!!!
So I decided last night that rather than deal with shoveling out my car I'd just walk to the bus at the end of my road & deal with it when I came home (BTW - we are supposed to be getting more all day tomorrow)!! Well, I went out my door (I live in an apt complex... an expensive one to boot) & as usual they plowed my parking lot & left most of it in front of my porch!! (I mentioned expensive only because for what I pay them they could at least shovel out a path for me to get out of my apt!!) Anyway - I decided to do it myself & it wasn't that bad... I thought it was going to be heavier!!! So I decided to go ahead & clean around my car & just leave it there nice & pretty all day!! One of my neighbors insisted on giving me a ride to the bus stop so who am I to deny him the pleasure?
Once I got to the stop I realized I was hot & since my winter coat is about a size & a half too big I am able to get my arms of the sleeves while still wearing the coat - ya know what I mean? It gave my arms a chance to cool off!!
Well, as I was standing there trying to cool off it suddenly hit me... I had made a path to my car, cleaned off the car & shoveled all the way around my car & still had the energy to want to walk to the bus!!! WTF???
No heart pounding in my chest... no resting between shovelfulls trying to catch my breath... no sweating like it was 100 degrees in the shade with 99% humidity????? Who was that person????
I am & was shocked!! I couldn't believe it!!! If anyone had told me last winter that I'd be shoveling & still had a spring in my step I'd have told them to shut the heck up!!!!!
HOLY MOLY!!!!!!
Can you freakin' believe it??? Now the only downside to this is I can't, without feeling guilty, ask someone to help me because "I can't do it by myself"!!!! ... or can I???

Cece,
Congrats with your WOW moment hun!!! That feels so good right? I know I am still amazed as what I can do know! We just got 7-8 inches of snow ourselves and more tonight/tomorrow! I am SOOO ready for Spring and Winter just got here.
HAPPY NEW YEAR hun.....

Thanks everybody!! I know it got a little long-winded - I did try to edit it down but it lost some of what I was feeling!!
There have been a bunch of little WOW moments but this was a biggie to me & as I look out my window it seems I may get another chance soon to relive it!!!!
God, I am beginning to hate the snow!!!!
Everyday at work somebody is coming up to me commenting on how great I am looking or how baggie my clothes are etc!! It's great to hear but I must admit I need to get used to having the attention... it's been a long time!!!! I am getting better at accepting the compliments!!
Have a great New Year's Day!!!! It's only 9:30am & I am bored out of my mind already... oooh, it's gonna be a LONG day!!!

Hi CeCe
I had the "pleasure" of being in your neck of the woods to welcome in 2008 and help my girlfriend shovel her driveway after the foot of snow that night, she lives in Malta and I had to beat it out of there (headed south) early yesterday morning to escape the next snow storm but ended up getting into the thick of it up in the Catskill region. I too was amazed that I was able to assist her with snow shoveling without any pain and she has a driveway triple the size of mine! I sure was happy to see grass again once I got back to Long Island. I'm sure the kids are happy and the ski resorts are doing well with all that snow. But pooh on those snow plows for snowing you in. That happened to us at the end of the driveway when we were trying to clear a path and they came along and filled it back in....that stinks. I treated myself to some nice boots from one of the outlets up in Lake George....sex-in-the-city kind in a medium width!! I have NEVER worn a medium width shoe....I deserve them too! (he he he) How amazing this all is. Thanks for sharing.
