Thanks for that Jamie. You are always so helpful.

I love that quote - "We either make ourselves miserable, or we make ourselves strong. The amount of work is the same."

I'm printing it out along with other things that people have posted. You guys are great! Thank you.

I'm not stopping now Britt! I've only just begun!

I wanted to make my exercise goal attainable. I think sometimes I get into an all or nothing mindset, and that just doesn't work. I will exercise tonight for day 3 this week. My intention is to stay at 4 days for a while and increase time/intensity.

Hi Rachelle,     Exercise is an important component of any weight management program. Sometimes one has to be creative in finding new ways to add physical activity to their daily lives.  While walking on the treadmill is great - remember -  Richard Simmons made a fortune convincing people  to dance "Sweat to the Oldies."  I would also advise you to purchase a pedometer to track and record your daily steps. This allows you the opportunity to note the variation in your daily energy expenditure and allows you to become your own "personal scientist." Be creative with exercise ... Good Luck ! Barry M. Thanks Barry. I'm going to look for some fun tapes to do. Maybe I'll try the "Oldies" tapes. They do look like fun.

That's the spirit !  Many patients enjoy dance/exercise tapes. It helps them stay focused in their quest to develop a consistent program of exercise. Keep me posted on your progress. Sincerely, Dr. Stein
