Rachelle, you sound just like someone I know.  AND you've already lost more than I have. I just posted on the treadmill thread about my guilt about buying an elliptical...I keep thinking I have to justify it.  Do you think part of how we got to be the way we are was by putting ourselves last?    Let's put ourselves and our exercise needs FIRST.  Rachelle, YOU ARE DOING GREAT, and as your angel, I can say I'M REALLY PROUD OF YOU! big hugs,

Awww....thanks Karen. You are so sweet. Usually I am proud of my loss and I feel better than I have in years. I just have to do it. You are right...we have to put ourselves first.

Rachelle, You've done fabulously so far!! You should be proud of yourself!! Think of how long it would've taken you pre-op to lose that much!!! I know what you're feeling. I have been stuck at 97lbs for about a week (yes I know for oniy 10 weeks out I should be thrilled but you know where I am coming from) & I can't help but feel if I could only get off my butt & move it ore often I'd be there by now!!! But like I said earlier... How freakin' long would it have taken me to lose 97lbs pre-op???? I never have!!! So... I will get my butt moving after the first of the year & nothing will stop me!!!! Let's make a "resolution" not to be so hard on ourselves this new year!!!! We are just FAB-U-LOUS!!!! Cece

I promise to not be so hard on myself.

Rachelle, Hun I am also having a hard time with things right now but know that all the work that we have done already is a big step forward in the right direction! As said above, if you have less to lose sometimes it is harder to drop the weight. CONGRATS on the 66 lbs lost hun, that is just awesome!!! Keep on doing the right thing hun and it will get there. Your weight loss will slow down as time goes on, that is normal. I wish you all the best!!! Miss ya! HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

Hey Debra!

So nice to see you! I've missed seeing your beautiful face.

I've been struggling with alot of things lately, so I think this is just how it's all manifesting. While I know I lose slower than some, I'm usually very happy with my weight loss.

I think I'm trying to deal with everything in life without food for the first time in my life and I'm finding it very difficult. I never realized how much I medicated myself with food. I actually have my first Psychiatrist appt. on January 24th.

I hope that things start looking up for you also. Call me if you want to talk. I think you have my number.

Don't be so tough on yourself, sweetie.  I think you're doing awesome!!!  Remember, you didn't have a lot to lose in light of the big picture.  My doc would consider you a light weight!!  You're not even 1/2 year out yet and you've lost more than 1/2 of what you want to.  Keep the chin up!

Jus****ched the ball drop...I will be in TIME SQUARE on this night, some day!!!

Muah xo and Happy New Year to you and your honey!

I know you are right Cheri, but it doesn't change how I feel at the moment.

We just took down all the Christmas decorations. Maybe getting life back to normal will help.

Purple Passion  Hello! Lifestyle changes can be quite challenging, the beauty of it is we have an opportunity every moment to make a new choice.  You are not alone in this challenge! Consider trying to start with simple goals (written down each week) and then progress to longer range goals. Remember to make your goals realistic and achievable. It's easy to get frustrated and give up if our goals are too ambitious. Think slow start, variety and flexibility. If possible seek support, be accountable and track progress such as on a program such as www.fitday.com or calendar at home or journal it daily. Enlisting a buddy to check in or work out with also can increase successful outcomes. The writing down of goals immensely increases success as well many feel. Track measurements as well as ability to funcion (less effort to walk, ease in walking, less pain etc) vs soley the scale as a guide. Reward self with non-food after your first small goal then after longer (manicure/pedicure, massage, new workou outfit, new download for ipod, pretty journal to write in etc)....Barriers can be placed in our way (by ourselves) and they can also be overcome by oourselves.  This quote I think we can adapt to this issue: (substitute unhealthy for miserable and healthy for strong) "We either make ourselves miserable, or we make ourselves strong. The amount of work is the same."  Sometimes journaling helps us uncover the reasons behind out self sabotage. Feelings such as fear, anger etc. When people sabotage their goals it's usually because they are uncomfortable with the changes they're making (usually unconsciously) and we don’t like to have our comfort zone threatened (we are hardwired to not like change!). We all exist in our own comfort zones where the predictable behavior of ourselves/others makes us feel secure. When we/someone changes, it threatens that comfort zone. Our natural reaction to that threat is to want – consciously or not – to stop the change that caused it, and the result is sabotage. Letting go of the critical judgement and hate is a start to letting go and moving through and beyond sabotage to a healthier place I think. LEttign go, noticing w/o judgment and accepting can be a powerful force, not easy but helpful when done! I believe in you to change! My motto change is inevitable struggle is optional! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
