Hi, Karen. Good luck on the elliptical. That is one kick a$$ machine to burn calories and excellent cardio workout. Thanks for the offer, but my husband already has a bike. He loves his - I have an aversion to it.

$$ is right!  It was EXPENSIVE, and I've had to keep telling myself, over and over, how I deserve it, how I haven't bought any new clothes ****ep having stuff taken in--I just brought a jean skirt in; 4 INCHES!)  And I'm waiting till next year for a new winter coat, and I work really long hours & this will eliminate all my excuses (time, weather, etc)  and this is upper body too, and my son & daughter will be using it as well,  etc. etc. etc. etc. It's really hard for me to spend this $ on myself--can ya tell?

I don't recommend non-motorized treadmills for my patients because they tend to become erratic over a period of time. You might consider other forms of exercise on inclement weather days. As an example - if you like to dance - there are many tapes available. One of my patients recommended the beginner ZUMBA - latin dance tape. Of course, you can "Sweat to the Oldies" with Richard Simmons, etc.

Good Luck !
