I changed my goal weight

I originally had my goal weight listed at 140, but I honestly think that is going to be too small for me. I changed my goal weight to 150. That may change in the future, but it's hard to envision a goal when you've never been that weight before.

Anyone else change you goal weight halfway through?

My goal weight is 140 also...but, I would be happy at 150.  I am 55 and I think 140 might be a little too light me for also...but, we'll see...I weighed 193 this morning...I'm gonna make it! Rosemary

Yes I most certainly did. I started out thinking 150, I'm 170 now and in the spring I will try to take off another 10 pounds and get to 160. Right now I'm maintaining at about 170 without much problem. I think your instinct is right on target Rachelle. The idea of a goal weight is that it be realistic and MAINTAINABLE. Otherwise, we end up back in obesity hell again.

Good for you. Go girl.

My first thought was figure out a weight based on the BMI charts, but that doesn't take into account your frame size, how your weight is distributed or anything like that. I am aiming for realistic and maintanable. You hit it right on, Amy.

Hey Rachelle. It's totally normal to change your goal. When I got to my SURGEON's goal I was horrified at how big I still looked. I think those "normal weight" charts are "loser-specific", for lack of a better term. 150 pounds can look totally different on 2 people of the same height. You may change your goal a few times. The main thing is to be healthy! Also...make it a realistic, maintainable goal weight. Keep up the great work! Hugs, Karen

Thanks Karen, that's exactly what I'm doing....making it realistic and maintanable.

I'll know more about my goal as I get closer to it. I just wanted to have an ultimate number to shoot for.

I don't really have a goal weight yet!! My surgeon said that as long as my BMI gets to a healthy number (I think he said around 29 but don't quote me) it's up to me!! I am aiming for a size 12 (10 & I'd be overjoyed)!! I have no idea what weight that will be... my sister seems to think around 160!!! I'll take it!! Anything is better than 437.4lbs!!!! You keep up the great work!!! Cece

Hi Cece. My surgeon hasn't talked to me about a goal weight yet. This is all in my own head.

That's funny. I thought the same thing. I'd like to be a 12, a 10 would be ideal.

I changed my goal weight at my first fill, 4 weeks out...from 132 to 155.  I'm 5'5" also.  My nurse looked at me, then yanked out the chart insurance companies still use.  My original goal was too light.  So, yes darlin'...me me me me!
