Need some variation

I am on stage 3 of the post-op diet. I am getting tired of pudding, jello, tomato and cream of chicken soup. I have my carnation instant breakfast 2-3 times daily as well. I have the variety pack so basically have all three flavors a day. Anyone have any suggestions for something new I can try. I proceed to stage 4 on the 5th. Any help would be great. Thanks, Christine

Christine, What is the dr's definition of your stage 3? Every dr is different. My "stage 3" is pretty much anything I want except bread, pasta, rice, steak & no lettuces yet!! I can try whatever I want but it has to be chewed to death!!! All I was told was to introduce new foods & make sure they are chewed very well!! I was in the pureed stage for 5 weeks & I know how boring the same old, same old can get!! I tried ricotta cheese with s/f tomato sauce & mozz or parm cheese - zap it for a few seconds. I also had refried beans with a little shredded cheddar & the juice from the salsa - also zapped. How about cottage cheese with some s/f applesauce & cinnamon mixed in or maybe pureed canned low sugar peaches? I was allowed cream of wheat (I added pureed fruit) & even mashed potatoes with cheese & protein powder mixed in!! Of course I could have meats, veggies & tuna as long as they were pureed in a food processor. Scrambled eggs with cheese was a staple too!! I had some peanut butter on a spoon (careful of the size spoon you use )!! How about yogurt? Can you have that? Oh, how about a baked sweet potato? I find I like them now - I hated them prior to surgery!! Or even some pumpkin puree with a few traditional spices? Those are some of things I did to get through - hopefully you can find something useful in there!! Good luck & don't get discouraged!!! It does get better!!! I promise!!! Cece
