I have Medicare and also used Dr. Cerabona @ Obesity Surgery Associates in Valhalla, NY. 914 347-0162.  The office also has two other surgeons, Dr. Kaul and Dr Yacto.  They are afficiated with Westchester Medical Center and the hospital is a Center of Excellence for Medicare. The group also takes medicaid.

I couldn't be more please with his care. He is a wonderful & caring man.  He is VERY thorough with his pre certifications. He has a great track record with the surgeries he performs.

I went in with all my pre certifications to my first visit.  I just needed 2 Nutrition visits and was ready to schedule surgery. I had my surgery 2 months from my first office visit.

Good luck!

They no longer work with Medicaid, since Dr. Yatco is no longer there. They still work with Medicare, so if you have both there will be a co-pay for every visit.

Just a thought. Most medicare patients have a secondary insurance also, and you can use their list.

I have both Medicare and Medicaid and my surgeon accepted me.  He is in the Highland Bariatric Excellency Group.  His name is Dr. William O'Malley and I believe the other doctors in with him must also accept both.  I don't know if he accepts just Medicaid, but I'm sure they would answer your question on the telephone when asked.  The other doctors are Dr. Thadeus Boss and Dr. Johnson.  Their phone number is:  585-341-0366.  They are all excellent surgeons in the Rochester area.  Sue

My bariatric surgeon was also William O'Malley, and he is phenomenal!  I had Medicaid managed care (Blue Choice Option), and he accepted this.  It paid for everything, and I had no co-pay. Annette

I was referred to Dr. O'Malley (I need a revision from vbg to rny) and I have Medicaid (Total Care), and they said they only take straight medicaid, I asked about the total care and she said I would have to switch to straight medicaid, which is a problem, because my primary care physician, therapist, and gyn don't take straight medicaid...ugh.....Any suggestions?
