drinking enough
What did everyone drink when they got home after surgery? So far today I have had my protein shake and a bottle of water and about 6 ounces of chicken broth. I am going to try sugar free pudding for supper in about an hour and do more sipping. Does that sound like enough. If not what else should I add in. I appreciate any help and other drinks to try too.
Thanks, Christine
Hi Christine; welcome home and congratulatons!
What I found helpful was to use a small 1-ounce dosage cup. It comes with liquid meds or your pharmacy can give it to you. One capful every 20 minutes. The point is to be continually sipping all day. Keep tha****ter-bottle with you at all times!
I drank a lot of crystal lite and herbal tea & no sugar added lime-ade (I think it was Minute-Maid.) Some people drink watered-down apple or cranberry juice. I also liked to drink lactaid skim milk & would make my protein shakes with it.--I had read that many people develop a lactose intolerance, but when I tried regular skim milk, I was fine.
Hope this helps...take care.
I dranks lots of hot tea (decaf) ... that really helped me get my fluids in the begining :)
