Hi!! I am looking for opinions of the new great debate... Cool Whip: Sugar Free (1g fat/0g sugar) vs Fat Free (0g fat/1g sugar)!!! I have always used Cool Whip Free but I just saw they have a sugar free version too. I did my grocery shopping today & bought one of each just in case!! Anybody use either one after surgery & if so how'd it go? I am one month out & am cooking for about 8 people. I will probably put both out but I was curious how post-opers handled it!! Looks to me from the info on the pkg it could be a toss up but I thought I'd ask anyway!!! Thanks!!! Cece

Hiya Cece, I usually buy the sugar free version.  It's yummy and my company doesn't know the difference.

I have used both post op and have had no trouble with either one.   They are both yummy.  I use them in anything that calls for cool-whip and people can't tell the difference no matter which version I go with.   Sally

Hi CeCe,I always buy the sugar free version. For the small amounts I eat I am not concerned with fat as much as I watch sugar. If I put the cool whip on fruit sometimes I sprinkle a little splenda on top.Have a great bird day, Bob

Cece: I am guessing most of Coolwhips variety come as marketing ploy, because as you see below comparing labels it is all sugar, water and fat...WHIPPED so 2Tablespons of anything regular, lite, sugar free (it is not! just has some nutrasweet added and still has corn syrup in it) or the fat free *still has fat i it... is about 15-25 cal, o-1.5g fat, 2-3 g carbs (0-1g sugar), all have no protein. All in all 2t SHOULDN'T hurt anyone but lots more may make us dump...Just some food for thought! :-) Regular has less carbs than sugar free!!!! COOL WHIP - WHIPPED TOPPING - SUGAR FREE

Jamie, I noticed that too!!! Isn't it amazing what a few words on a label can do to people?  I asked my SIL (she's a NUT who used to work in a bariatric surgeon's office) & she said the same thing but told me to try the "sugar free" just to be on the just to be on the safe side. I bought both in case my guests find it vile... I know they like the "Free" kind!!! I figure for the amount I plan on having it shouldn't be a big deal... I hope!!! Thanks for the info... I am new & still trying to learn the ins & outs of everything!!!
