I met with my surgeon yesterday.  Dr. Hill was excellent.  I then got my pre-admission done.  Then off to the group meeting. There were 3 of us, so small group.  My surgery is Tuesday, Nov. 20th. They said right now I am looking at afternoon for my surgery. Told her if they wanted to change to morning that would be great.  Would rather get it done early. I have to call Monday for surgery time. How long was everyone off of work? I asked yesterday and was told 4-6 weeks even for the lap RNY. I thought it was only about 2 weeks.   Christine

Christine, If you don't have the surgery lapro...it is about 4-6 weeks...and you will need that time.  I went back to work 3-1/2 weeks after and it was too soon.  I was exhausted and needed more recovery time...of course I am 55...might make a difference, hehehe.  Congratuations on your date...keep us posted! Congrats, you're almost there! 4-6 weeks off for Lap RNY really surprises me. I had Lap RNY and was off for just 3 weeks. Surgeon released me after 2, but I took an extra one off because I wanted to.
