Just checking in...
Hi Everyone, just wanted to check in and say I'm doing OK. I'm up to about 40 ozs. of liquids a day, the pain is not too bad, and I'm getting all my vitamins, walking, and spirometer in. So all of the mechanical stuff is going well anyway.
After surgery did anyone else want to give themselves a good swift kick in the arse for doing this??? Logically I know I did the right thing, but being virtually helpless and watching my husband run around doing everything and not being able to play with my son is making me feel really lousy... I know I won't feel like this forever(at least I hope not) and as I feel better physically, I'm sure my mental state will get better too. I guess I'm just looking to vent a little, thanks for listening.
Oh yeah, a question... About how long was it before you felt like you could move around more freely, like without your incision popping open or without hurting yourself??
Thanks again....
Flo
As you can tell the first few days are rough. But it gets better. You may want to shine a shoe on your rear right now .. but give it a few days. The pain will start to go away along with the weight. I'm almost 3 weeks out, have dropped a little weight and feel .. ohh soo much better!! I'm back at work
and doing yard work, so take some time and relax .. and welcome to the losers bench!!!
Keep the liquids up .. you're doing great!

Sounds like you are doing fine and you won't feel helpless forever. It does take weeks to fully recover. I would give it a full 90 days before you are feeling like yourself. I was very tired for about 6 weeks. And it did take a while for the incision to feel better. But, just remember...you are worth it...and once you are 100% and losing weight...you will feel like a million. Take it a day at a time...every day you will feel better.

Flo,
It is good to hear from you. I guess a lot of people have the same feeling that you have about doing the right thing or not. You did the right thing, it just a little bumpy at first. You will get better and be more like yourself before you know it. Just take it easy and let your hubby do the chores, we know that he won't do it perfectly but it will surmise. heehee.
Take it easy!
