With all the hype need to know has anyone had this and what worked..I have MERSA, and was given Clindamycin 150 mgs 4 times a day. However, I don't think it's working, I got another boil under my nose. I am feeling so ran down, tired. Has anyone had this and if so what worked....I don't know if it will develope into the one thats killing everyone..so far were on a good track..but not sure how to get rid of it.

Hello, MRSA (methicillin-resistant staphylo****us aureus) is a type of infection that has developed because of antibiotics. It is a staph infection that can be spread easily to others by sharing the same soaps, towels, and can be prevented in the public setting by handwashing. You should not allow any one else to use the towels and avoid touching the boils. If you do, promptly wash your hands before touching any thing else including the faucet handle. If you must touch them it may be helpfull to use disposible gloves then wash hands. The infection (MRSA) has mutated to become a more powerful strain then what most antibiotics can get rid of. It is treated many times by vancomycin but can become resistant to this. MRSA is form of 'super bug' that they found growing in popularity several years ago. It is a smart bacteria although simple not comples in its physical make up and needs to be treated. If you have children be careful that anything such as clothing. towels that come in contact with theirs is not used by them until it is washed. I would definately not foul around with this as the boils can develope deep in the tissue and get into the muscle or bloodstream.
I don't want you to think you will not recover from this but you need to take precautions until it is resolved to prevent the spread to immune compromised people like children and elderly or sick. I would ask the doctor why the boils continue to develop and if you should try a different antibiotic. If he can't explain or work with you then go to an infectious disease doctor asap. Chances are you got it in the hospital and they should have some kind of information on other cases acquired there.
