I am sure that everyones cir****tances are different.  But how long is the average stay for a Lap RNY?   I haven't had my Pre-op appt yet, and won't until the 14th.  I am sure I can wait and ask my Dr....but I am antsy and want to know NOW....LOL

I had my surgery on June 5th, a Tuesday and went home on June 8th Friday morning. I think I'm about the average most patients stay in the hospital. All the best!!

201 pounds lost since surgery!! And I'm 2 1/2 inches taller too!!

And YES I still eat Carbs and Fats but I know what portion control is!!

Surgery Date: 6/5/07

I had my surgery on Thursday...went home on Sunday, but the Dr told me that I would have gone home on Saturday if I lived closer to the hospital (1-1/2 hours away).  I am sure it depends on your situation. Rosemary

I haven't had my surgery yet.  My pre-op and meeting Dr. Hill for the first time is Nov. 14th too.  My surgery is Nov. 20th.   When the doctors office called to set up my surgery date she I should be home by Thursday.   Just in time for Thanksgiving.  Good luck to you. Christine

I had my surgery on Tuesday 9/18/07 and was chomping at the bit to get out on Thursday 9/20/07.  I had to do the liquid diet on Wednesday after the upper GI, then had to tolerate pureed breakfast and lunch on Thursday.  As soon as I took my last bite of pureed tuna salad, I was ready to go!  Was ready to go at 12:30pm but the nurses fiddle-farted around and didn't get my paperwor****il 3:30.  Healing at home is sooooooo much better and healthier and you also get visiting nurses if you have any problems.  I don't think I would have healed so fast if I would have had to stay in the hospital any longer than 48 hours. Good luck on your surgery and remember, you do heal better at home, where you are comfortable. Michelle
