Just Poppin' In

Just wanted to pop in and say hi to my buddies here.  I've been really awful about getting on OH much in the last month or so.  Work got very busy and my daughter's sports schedule wreaked havoc with my free time.  I do come on and read everyone when I get a chance, but I haven't been posting at all.   I was twelve weeks out from my surgery on Monday.  As of this morning I've lost 69 lbs.  I'm already more than halfway to my goal and I just can't believe it.  I haven't had any dumping experiences and just about all foods agree with me as long as I don't eat too fast or too much.  I am starting to feel real hunger again, and I do know that I can eat a little more as every week goes by, but so far I'm doing well with those things.  I still live on my protein concoctions and Crum Creek Soy Bites.  If you haven't had those, go over to www.crumcreek.com and order some.  I particularly love the Everything ones.  They're so crunchy and have so many good flavors.  They are my #1 snack.   I wanted to ask what everyone does when it comes to cereal.  I haven't had a single bite of cereal since my surgery and I'm starting to crave it.  When I read the boxes it just seems as though they all have more sugar than I want to attempt.  Also, if we're having it in milk (which is the only way I want it) then isn't that the same as eating and drinking together?  Won't it just travel right thru the pouch?   Any advice on very low sugar cereals that are crunchy and good?

69 lbs...wow!  That's great...congratulations!!  Those soy bites sound great...thanks for the link!  I'm not to the point of cereal type foods yet so I can't help you there but good luck with it!

Hi Chris!!! Hahahaha...we live so close but have to find each other on here! I only log on about once a month or so too...life is just too insane to do otherwise right no. Cereal...hmmm....not much help there, I'm afraid I don't each much of that, okay, none of that. I did buy some Carb Control oatmeal, maple or brown sugar flavor. It was okay, but I really needed some crunch so it languishes in the cupboard. Sams carries some nice high protein granola, but it tasted too vanila-ish for me, so again, sits in the cupboard till my kids get desperate. Breakfast is the toughest meal of the day for me. I think I am completely egg-ed out. Sams had some Thomas English Muffins that are higher in progein and fiber, very tasty, if you can do breads.
