Just remembering my initial days post op 2 years ago and wondering how everyone is that helped me through those scary days....if you are around can you put a little update here for everyone to see...Hope you are all doing well.  As for me I made my 2 year anniversary yesturday ....i am doing great, feeling great.  I started my journey at 212 pounds at 4'11" and now i am 125-130 depending on the day and still 4'11" lol. I am working in a preschool with children with disabilities as the school nurse and loving every min of it.  My kids are doing great, one will be 16 soon the others are 12, 5 and 4.....all in school now ....i am still married, 13 years married and 20 years together {God help me} lol....... I have good eating days and bad eating days...nobody is perfect the difference is these days i am so m uch more aware of what i put in my mouth...something i never was before.  I continue to read labels and continue to follow the program, thats the only way you will succeed. I use lots of support and find alternates to dealing with stress....food is no longer my best friend and thats a great thing.  i am enjoying myself and dont feel tired or sick all the time. Best of luck to you all, newbies esp and i really hope to read some old timers updates. Love ya LisaMarie

I guess I'm an old timer, but you mostly know how I'm doing. I've lost 130 pounds since 05/06, hoping for another 10-15 more, but not stressing over it. My life is certainly so much better as a result, but some hard changes have come about too, namely the dissolution of my marrige. In the long run, I imagine I will be better off for it, but now it is very hard, since it is still so new.

Nonetheless, I'd have this surgery again in a heartbeat because it gave me back myself and my self esteem. I, like you, have good and bad days, but food is not central to my life as it once was, and that is wonderful.

Newbies unite! This is an amazing process with so many wonderful ( and some difficult) changes ahead and this group is a super source of support.

Wow Amy our stories are so alike!! Ive lost 168 lbs, im off insulin (3 shots a day) and BP meds. I feel better, and look much better to. My self esteem is greatly improved since my Tummy Tuck in June.

Im glad both of you added good and bad days, as I have them to. Some days its easy to stay on track, others its very hard.

Overall Id do this again in a second. I would have not been able to loose the weight I have on my own.

Hi LisaMarie ! congrats on your 2 yr anniversary.I'm almost a year since starting this journey and 10 months out from surgery.I'm down 143 lbs and pretty much at goal.I'm at the gym every other day and feeling great.I'm off 7 meds.as well. The ONLY down side is that with out the body insulation I'm cold.Being in the meat business I'm in 40 degree temp all day long. You can only wear so many layers of clothes and still be able to move ! So you know I'm not looking foward to an upstate winter comming very soon.Well take care and again, congratulation on your success,Bob

Happy 2 year surgiversary!!!!!!!!!!    Doesn't time go really fast post op?  I mean it's almost feels like yesterday that I was walking into the OR for my first surgery.   I am 20 months post op.....I was 492 lbs when I started this journey...472 the day of surgery and today i am 196-201 lbs depending on the day.   Post op DS life in terms of eating and such is easy..the DS is really forgiving when I go on candy binges...like I did for the last 4 days...I actually dropped from 201 to 199 after just eating and eating and eating ....darn mini chocolate bars.  I work out 4 times a week..sometimes 5 sometimes 3...but usually 4.  right now...i'm working on breaking into a new career path...so I'm excited about that opportunity.
