While I was recovering from my surgery and following my diet, I was very weak and legartic. I was following the food plan the gave me but some how things weren't right. My mother ended up putting together that I was going through withdrawal.  It made sense. All at once I had stopped Caffine, All sugars (even natural sugar from fruit), all salts, all carbs and all fats.  My body was going into shock and withdrawal.  I eventually had some fruit juice with water to make it less potent and that seemed to help me, along with a tiny pinch of salt in certain sodium free soups. Just want people to be aware of withdrawal and to talk about it with your nutritionist at some point.

You are so right about withdrawal symptoms.  Amazing - huh ? Think of all  the crap that we had put in our poor bodies to make it run. Give it time and you will learn to appreciate your new found health. (and energy. ) Good Luck on this journey. P.S. LOL Mother is always right!

Oh I hear ya on this one!  I started my 3 day liquid diet before surgery on Monday and tonight I couldn't think straight.  I  hadn't had any sugar or much protein (there isn't much in broth) all day.  I drank some juice tonight and feel a bit better.   Glad you figured it out and are feeling better!!

I'm 5 months out and desperately want a diet coke...but know if I have one sip, I'll be on a bad fast track!  So, I'll stick to my crystal light...lol
