BIOTIN
It will not prevent it or slow it, however it will help with the new growth.
Everyone that I know of say they have lost hair and I know first hand OMG it's freaking nuts. Preop my ponytail was a good 2 1/2 inches thick now maybe it's 3/4 inch thick.
For normal dosage it will be listed on the bottle my stylist recommended I double up so I have and I can see some new baby hairs coming in just not as fast as I'd like them.
201 pounds lost since surgery!! And I'm 2 1/2 inches taller too!!
And YES I still eat Carbs and Fats but I know what portion control is!!
Surgery Date: 6/5/07

According to my bariatric surgeon, there is no real evidence that biotin aids in the growth of new hair or prevention of hair loss after your WLS. You are losing hair about 3-4 months post-op because of the anesthesia. If it makes you feel better to take the biotin, it won't hurt you but you're probably just wasting your money. Eat your protein and that will keep your nails and hair growing as the hair loss slows up....and it will.
