does he require all to be on a pre-op diet if so how much does he want you to lose before surgery if any?

Not sure about the doc.  I know it was my insurance company that required a 5% loss to show my commitment to a life style change.

Yes he does require a preop diet which Janet the nutritionist will give you. Dependin gon your insuarance this may be a set weight. If not he doesn't give you an amount he just doenst want you to gain weight before the surgery. He has cancelled surgeries because patients have gained weight

From what I remember, his nutritionist put me on a preop diet, and I was told not to gain any weight, I wasn't told specifically to lose any, although I was told by Dr. Yatco (who was in the practice at the time) to lose as much as possible, that 10 percent would be ideal.  I switched surgeons because that practice is not experienced with the DS.
