Does this make sense?

Since I have had a consult here and started very primarily to get the ball rolling, does it make sense to consult with another surgeon's office?  I consulted with Dr. Kaul, but based on Dr. Ren's extensive experience, I am considering going to her.   She has done over 1500 surgeries and Dr. Kaul has done considerably less.  I live a lot closer to Dr. Kaul though.  Is Dr. Ren worth the travel?

Dr. Ren and Dr. Fielding are the best out there!!!!  If it were me, I'd transfer everything to her (or her hubba bubba!)  Good luck with your decision, sweetie!

I felt very safe in Dr. Ren's hands.

I hear she's great but I wouldn't trade Dr Roslin for all the gold in the world!!  But then she's also at NYU and I'd rather have a group of homeless drunk monkeys with one eye between them take care of me than NYU. But hey, just my opinion.

201 pounds lost since surgery!! And I'm 2 1/2 inches taller too!!

And YES I still eat Carbs and Fats but I know what portion control is!!

There will always be other surgeons who seem like they have a little more experience or have better reviews or something that makes them stand out a little more than others but the bottom line is that YOU have to feel comfortable and confident with the doctor you are going with.  If you have only consulted with one doctor and you are feeling good about checking out another, then do that.  No rule that says you have to go with the first doctor you consulted with.  I didn't.  I checked into 2 other surgeons seriously before I decided on the 3rd to do my surgery and even though there are other surgeons that longer careers and get more "publicity" than he does, I was very comfortable with him, trusted him and have no regrets at all.  The bottom line is your comfort level.

I started on the road to a Lap Band back in June with a local surgeon.  When complications developed during the pre-op process, he sent me to Dr. Ren and said that she was the only surgeon in NYC that he would let operate on him.  I have made two visits there and have been very pleased.  Surgery is scheduled for 11/12.  The folks in the office have been very nice, and Tammy has been just great in trying to limit my visits because I have to travel. Hope this helps. Regards,
