I couldn't have made it without my MAGIC BULLET!!  (get your minds outta the gutter folks...LOL  It's a blender~type item )   It's just small enough to make one drink with ice!  YUMMILICIOUS!!!!

I use the Tupperware 16 oz. shaker when I needed to mix a shake away frome home at work.  At home I used the shaker or a regular blender.  For pureeing foods I used a mini chop food processor or blender.  My husband is a recent post-op, and finds that the shaker is better than the blender for him, as the blender produces too much air in the shake.  This never bothered me.  There was no Magic Bullet around when I had my surgery, though.

I know my doctor would rather me start on 'soft' foods when it's time rather than pureed so I'm starting to wonder if I would really need the magic bullet. Thank you for the info!

Sorry for the delay in responding.  Both my husband and I are post-ops who went from liquid to puree to soft, so this was they way we managed.  I would think a blender or food processor would be fine, or the Magic Bullet could work if you had nothing and wanted something inexpensive.  Best of luck!!!

Thanks for responding!  I ended up going with the Bella Cucina and it seems to work great! Thanks again!

I love my magic bullet too!  It's not only for shakes, you can make egg salad, soft tuna, mix up the pancakes that are made w/ cottege cheese & sour creme, etc.  AND, yes, I use the Spirutein.  I use Vanilla & mix w/low-fat milk, 2 ice cubes & frozen strawberries.  The only way I can mix that all is in the bullet.
