Just got approved .. Surgery 10/23

Hi Everyone, Just wanted to let you know that after a year or so of thinking about surgery .. I'm getting it done.  I started the process on  8/31 and got approved by my insurance company on 10/5.  I'm scheduled for surgery on 10/23.  I guess I'm excited, nervous and a little afraid all at once.   ..   I've been thinking about the liquid diet right after surgery.  How bad is it?  I'm told to stick with high protien liquid meals like glucerana (I'm dieabetic).  Any other good ones out there?  want to be prepared for when I come home from the hospital.  Any thing else I need to watch out for coming out of surgery???  How slowly does the weight come off with the band?? Guess I'm full of questions now that I have a date.   Ron

Congrats on your date, hon!  Getting banded was the best thing I could have done for myself!  I LOVE MY BAND and I hope you will love yours as well!  Add me if you want.  I send my 6 week post-op plan to anyone who wants it.  I followed the 6 week post-op plan to a T, actually a little longer than 6 weeks.  I would be thrilled to share it with you!  I have slowed down over the last few month, but continue to lose inches (fine with me).  I haven't been working out or walking due to working so much.  I'll be back on track this week!  I need 28 lbs to hit goal.  I know I can do it in the 12 months I've given myself.

good luck with your surgery mine lap band surgery is a day after yours

I am getting my band the same day!  No advice to offer as I haven't had surgery yet but hopefully we will both come through and start losing!

Hi Ron. I'm so happy for you and the upcoming surgery date. Please keep posting and keep us updated...if for nothing else but to voice your excitement, questions or concerns. That's what we are all here for.
