OK, as of this morning my hormones are officially out of whack!! I'm grouchy one second and ready to cry the next. This morning when I was driving to work I got all emotional and started to cry...FOR NO REASON AT ALL!!

This is crazy. Does everyone go through this?

PS...I am not PMSing.

Oh Hell yeah, it's all normal, lol, but not really much fun.  Between wls and my age (48), my body had to readjust, and it took awhile.  My cycle was off, sometimes I would feel like I was PMS-ing and then not get my period.  Now I am pre-menopausal so it's still out of kilter.   Don't forget hormones are affected by weight gain and loss so it's all normal. So just hold on tight because it does eventually ease up. Good luck with your journey! Sue

You have to stay in shape. My grandmother, she started walking five miles a day when she was 60. She's 97 today and we don't know where the hell she is. - Ellen DeGeneres

Yes, yes, yes, Rachelle. It happened to me also just a little over a month out. It should all level out soon, but make sure to keep an eye on it. I not only was sobbing for no good reason but was also asking myself if I did the right thing with having WLS EVEN though I couldn't have been happier with my weight loss progress. I feel that I was truly mourning my beloved food. I went through the, "Why couldn't I have been normal and eat in moderation like all the thin people?" If the truth be known, sometimes I still get a twinge. The hormone thing should even out and it gets so much better...just be mindful of the intensity and duration of it. It is not a good thing to have last for a long period of time. You are doing great and I'm so proud of you. Take Care

Thanks sweetie. I'm thankful that I haven't really mourned the loss of food, but I just didn't see this coming. I'm sure that I've read about it, but you know how it is. Sometimes you don't understand it until you experience it yourself.

Im pretty sure I read somewhere that estrogen is stored in fat, and when we loose fat the extra estrogen is released.
