I've been on it since the end of July - 4 shakes a day & 1 meal of protein & veggies. It wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be. I will say that the vanilla powder's smell made me gag but that is just me. I only drink chocolate.  Chris told me that I needed to mix it with a minimum of 6oz of water - I found 10oz to be just the right consistency!! Play around & find out what works best for you!! I also use cold water & the colder it stays the better it is. I add the water to my container then the powder & put the lid on & shake it really well.  I also discovered that I hate the foam so I don't use a blender or anything that puts too much air into it & I will spoon the foam off the top before I drink it!!  Use extracts too. I love the chocolate with Raspberry extract (check out the spice aisle in the grocery store - be careful with the mint though... I loved the taste but couldn't get passed the smell of it!!!).  I drink a "double" in the morning (6am) - it gets me through to at least 10:30-11am at work & then I either have 1 or 2 depending on how hungry I feel. I hated coming home from work & feeling like I could eat a horse so I had one around 3pm!! Experiment with the schedule that works best for you & by all means drink LOTS of WATER!!!! Be prepared... I was waking up at 3:30-4:00am to pee!!! I was not pleased about that at all... until I saw the results on the scale!!!  That's all I can think of right now!! Good Luck!! You will do fabulously!!!! At least you don't have to do 12 weeks of it!! If you have any other questions - give me a shout!!! Cece

Cece, Hi thanks for answering! I heard that before about the extract. I didn't know you ate a meal at all. I thought it was all Medifast. I am shocked. Is it wrong to do all shakes? I am ready for water, I want this surgery more than everything I have ever wanted. I want to feel better.  Did you use a blender with ice? And did u try almond extract? Thanks for all the great info!!

Oh you're welcome!!! If anything I gave you makes it easier then it was worth typing a mini-novel!!  Yeah - the program they put me on included a meal at dinner time & a coworker who also had Dr Clarke had the same program so chances are you will too. I don't think it's a good idea to do all shakes unless they tell you to. Now, don't get me wrong - there have been a couple of days where I did all shakes but it wasn't intentional... time got away from me & all of a sudden it was 8pm & I don't like to eat that late so I had a double & was good to go!! Stick with the plan they give you - it does work really well!!!! Don't be afraid to use spices either when cooking your meals!!! I found a couple Mrs Dash blends that I like!! It sure kicks things up a bit!! I did try a blender with ice & I couldn't get the right ratio of ice & water & gave up!! Chris mentioned making a chake & freezing it like a sorbet - I did try it but I wasn't thrilled with the outcome!! You might like it!!  I do use almond extract also cherry & orange but the raspberry is definitely my favorite!!! I know they're $3 a bottle but you only use a tiny amount but it helps break up the monotony!!!  Good luck!! Let me know how it goes!!! Cece

Cece, The extracts are in this store down here I think called OCEAN STATE JOB LOT. I found Lemon there, I am sure that they would ahve the others. I will look Monday and let you know.

I like Mrs. Dash, so that's not a problem. What's a typical meal like? I am REALLY excited.

Woould you like to be support buddies? Maybe we can check in 1 or 2 x a day or whatever? Let me know!!

Sure - support buddies sounds good!!! We can always use all the support we can get & it's great when it comes from someone going through the same things!!! My meals consisted of 4-5oz of lean protien & either 1 1/2c cooked veggies, 1c raw or 2c salad greens with 1/2c addt'l veggies & a little low or no-fat dressing!! That's it!! At first I thought it would be tough but the amts of food when you actualy measure it out ended up being plenty!! On days when it didn't seem to be enough I threw in a few more veggies... just a little!! I also pulled out a few very pretty smaller dishes I had packed away because my every day set dishes a freakin' huge!! This made it feel like more!!! I ate a lot of fish at first - I love talapia & cod it was a good change from chicken & lean beef!! We can use some condiments (mustard, horseradish, lemon/lime & others) so I took full advantadge of them too!!! As long as you don't hate veggies you should be fine!!! I did crave eggs one day so I took the egg beaters & veggies & made an omelete with a small side salad... it was really good!! (I can't do just the egg white thing so the egg beaters worked well... at least it looked like eggs!!) Don't be afraid to go out to dinner with friends either!! I live alone & cooking for only one got old so when I could meet the girls I jumped at!!! It really wasn't as difficult as I thought it would be to stick to the plan!! Just make sure you don't go italian!!! Not so easy there!! But 99 Restaurant, Applebees & even my local diner were good choices!! (Friday's was hard even with some of their salad choices). I told my friends that this is supposed to be the beginning of my life not the end of it!!! I am not going to hide away in my house - the whole point is to get active & get out more!!! Good luck!! If you need suggestions just give me a yell!!
