I'm in trouble cause I've been pondering

Ok I've been sitting here letting my thoughts run wild. I recently had a small amount of time where I didn't lose any weight and got really depressed. Most likely due to my cycle but that's beside the point. It got me to thinking, could losing weight become an addiction? Do the comments about how good you're looking make a person want to lose more and go to extreme mesaures to keep losing? Then there are the people that are addicted to eating. Now that that's not an option, and instead of turning to drugs, cigarettes, or shopping...does a person turn to losing the pounds?

Oh, yes, Ruth it does happen to some folks and not just WLS people, but also people who have lost weight and go to the other extreme. Many, many former obese people's self image doesn't catch up with their true body size as they shed the pounds. They still think of themselves as a heavy person even while looking in the mirror. Some may be fearful of ever gaining weight again and go to the other end of the spectrum where they eat far too little calories to sustain a healthy body weight. I think that it is imperative to touch base with a therapist if you realize that something may be wrong. Losing / gaining weight is an intensely personal and emotional experience. Take Care~~

yes, they are alot of issues with weight problems.  I am an emotional eater...but, I do find that I am happier since my surgery so I really don't miss the food fix at the present time, but I am worried that I will if my appetite comes back.  I have found that I really enjoy the attention I'm getting with my weight loss...I hope that I can adjust emotionally when I get to my goal and not go crazy. These feelings you have are completely normal...don't worry. Rosemary
