I have a  few questions: When I cough, omg it hurts so much, is there anyway to reduce the pain? diarrea - my stool is coming out like this, Is this normal?  Im on a full liquid diet now. Thanks in advance Herb

Glad you can "****" and "fart" and glad your parents congratulated you for it.  They seem to be very in tune to your needs.  Yes, liquid in, liquid out, it is normal.  I suspect you've also lost some weight.  Congrats on that as well...I would hold a pillow to myself to cough, seems to control the extent of the pain. Enjoy!

Herb, I had my RNY on Tuesday as well. I too have bad diarrhea and am on soft-mushy foods. The pain stinks, trust me, I'm right there with you. Keep taking your pain meds and support your stomach with a pillow when you cough. Hang in there, it gets better from here. Hugs, Lisa

Wow its been 5 years since I've had the RNY....what a life changing event.

After the surgery I lost alot of weight and gained alot of confidence.  I wanted to live live live and improve my life.  I've gone out with tons of girls, had 2 serious relationships, and my diabetes went away... I passed the CPA exam last year and became licensed.  If someone asked me what my three wishes in life were it would be to be normal sized, have a CPA, and a girlfriend....I have all three!

In total I lost about 90 pounds. Gained back about 25 lbs from my lowest...  I have stablized around 210-215 for about 3 years now, with a 36-38 inch waist...feel a little chubby but its ok....  I have to really work hard (exercising/avoid snacking) to get to under 200 and a 34...

Overall I had no complications with the surgery (thank god)...I've had a few health issues tho that are directly related to having an active life style.  A year after surgery I was roller skating for the first time and fell, I tore a muscle in my shoulder...it still aches.  I had a scare with Herpes from an Ex GF of mine, got tested, and came out clean....I don't mind these tho its like my old self would never try roller skating and wasn't having sex...

Best decision I've ever made in my life.  I was scared before the surgery I might have some complications but thank god I've been blessed!  To all of you out there dreams do come true!  keep fighting and dont give up!
