S.A.D.
Does anyone here suffer from Seasonal Affective Disorder? (Extreme winter blues) Not joking either.
I can feel it creeping into my body...again. I have a terrible time with this even way before there was even a name attached to it and knew what it was.
I have to work doubly hard now not to eat away the autumn and winter and to drag my butt out the door to walk. I haven't smoked in a very long time and even that is bothering me. I can actually feel that it's getting harder to do and that scares me.
Today I walked 5 miles with the pupster
and really I did it for her because she enjoys it so much. I feel if I start to slack off I'll totally lose momentum.
I am an all or nothing kind of girl which is not a good way to be. No gray area.
I've been here before when I did all the right things in the summer and just closed my blinds and stopped EVERYTHING as the season changed. Total hibernation/ isolation. It just happens and the feeling just washes over me in a flash.
Maybe it i****ting me because I'm back to reality after my little few days of Anniversary fun and being home is like a let down( back into reality and Life in general.)
Does anyone get this way? Do you know what I mean?
I want to be armed with ammunition so It all doesn't drag me down like all of the other years. I can't afford to fail at this WLS.
Just needed to voice my concerns - thanks. Helpful hints appreciated.
I bought a sun light box to simulate the sun at noon in the summer. I bought it about 3 years ago and it is somewhat helpful.
Thanks for listening.

I believe that i do suffer from it. THe last few weeks and espically the last few nights have been very chilly here and i just feel so depressed and irritable. I hate cold weather and hate being stuck indoors and hate snow. I get cranky, depressed and so moody around this time. I may have to seek some help this year for it ....seems more this year so far then any others....Hang in there.

Morning Di!!
I've never thought about it...but I do notice that I get the blues and have historically eaten away the winter over the last 9 - 10 years. I, too, will have to work extra hard and make sure I get my (_(_) to the gym!
We're all here for each other, so hopefully this will assist us!
Great walking with the pupster!

It might be worth discussing antidepressant therapy with your doc. I believe that they are very helpful in managing SAD. Good luck and keep us posted!
