Finally, It Happened To Me

Since I've had my new pouch I've been mainly on liquids and soft foods.  During this time I didn't feel my pouch at all.  I didn't experience any discomfort or overly full feeling and even though I wasn't hungry, I still kept wondering just exactly how small this pouch could really be if I never felt it.  This week I started gradually trying some more solid foods and nothing happened.  So today for lunch I took a Veggie Burger to work.  I nuked it and cut it up into tiny pieces and was eating it at my desk while I worked.   I got about half way done with it when I suddenly realized that I was starting to feel a wicked tightness/pressure between my ribs.  I stopped eating and waited to see if it went away.  It didn't and I realized that I was ACTUALLY FEELING MY FULL POUCH FOR THE FIRST TIME!!!!   Even though it was uncomfortable, I was so excited to really feel it!   It took well over an hour before the pressure subsided and I could breathe comfortably again.  During that time I walked around as much as I could and once an hour had passed I started drinking some liquids.   I know it might sound crazy, but this was just an awesome thing for me to know that I really couldn't eat more than that little bitty amount of solid food!

Hee hee! I bet it was the best feeling! I can feel my band around my pouch...it is cool to learn how it works and how it feels.  When to eat and when not too! Congrats babe!

I know what you mean. It was nice to know ....yup - I have a small little pouch!  that pain is horrible ...and soon you will learn to stop before that feeling comes on.  Now 10 months out ... if I  happen to eat too fast  or don't- I get that reminder - and it excites me! I am SO thankful for this surgery!!!! hugs, Britt

Nothing - tastes as good as it feels -to be at my ideal weight :)

You're too funny!!!   Congrats on feeling your new pouch!!! Too bad there was pain involved!! I guess it's one of those milestones we reach as we go through our journey!!! In a few months I should know exactly what you're going through!!!  Keep up the good work!!!! Cece

I know the feeling you are talking about....yes..you will get to know your pouch's mood quickly.  I have problems with eating too fast...and I immediately get a reaction...so, it slows me down.  This is such an adventure... Rosemary
