I was fine until the other day when I actually got my date. Now I seem to be scared! I know that I am going to go through with everything. But it really makes you think twice, or at least I think this is normal. lol please let me know what you guys think. Thanks for everything again

Yay!  Good for you. Very exciting and emotional time, I'm sure.  I'm waiting on a date, so don't have any advice about dealing with the emotional termoil, but I understand it's pretty "normal" to have conflicting feelings.  Keep us posted!

First of all congrats on you date!!!!!  It will be here sooner than later so start preparing now. As for what you are feeling, I have one word for you: NORMAL Normal, normal, normal. I would be more concerned if you did not worry. This is a life changing event and it is better to know ahead of time what you are getting into.  This involves both emotional and physical change. To doubt and worry is all part of it. May I suggest a support group? If you have not been to one yet, it is good to start going now. And this site is great as well. I have met wonderful people at support groups and this site. Prepare now so that when it is all said and done you and your body will not be as shocked. Good luck and keep us posted.

I felt the exact same way.  Once I had a date and knew it was really going to happen I got nervous.  I spent ALOT of time here on OH to remind myself of how many successful losers there are.  I kept telling myself over and over that everything was going to be just fine.  And IT WAS.  Seriously, this surgery has come SO far...the statistics are out of date and no longer accurate.  It's so much safer than it was even six and seven years ago.  Don't be scared...you're going to be FINE!  Be excited for the future...you're going to LOVE seeing the weight fall off!!!

Feal the fear and do it anyway!!  That's always been my motto.  What have you got to lose??  You might even want to read John 10:10 (since that is your surgery date).  God wants you to have a good life and have it in abundance!!  So BELIEVE this is a good thing for you.  The best is yet to come!  Good Luck!!  Soon you will be a 10!!  (thinking positive)

Congrats on the date!! The feelings you're having are normal! A lot of us go through this. I was terrified second guessing myself right up to the part where they rolled me in the operating room. Now 3+ months later, I am down 54 pounds and so glad I had WLS! Stay positive & remember your goal...A BRAND NEW LIFE!!
