I have been browsing the board for a few weeks now and finally decided to join. I have filled out all the paper work and I am currently writing a letter to the surgeon as to why I want the surgery. I know why I want the surgery.. but it's taking a while to type it all out!

As for typing that letter you have plenty of time!! LOL I was originally going to go through Posner until I found out he makes everyone do a 3 month diet plan (South Beach)and you have to keep a journal for those 3 months on everything you eat. I have done that diet before I don't want to do it again!! I started my journey the end of March. If I would of went with Posner with the length of his waiting list I wouldn't of had my surgery until Nov or Dec. I didn't want to wait that long!!! I think I have waited long enough!! So I went with Dr. Caruana at Synergy Bariatrics. I have never heard anything negative about him and he has done over 2500 of the RNY surgeries. I'm so glad I went to him!!! I am 5 weeks out and doing great!!
I just wanted to give you a heads up about the long waiting period when you go through Posner & Buffalo General. Good Luck!!!!

I have not seen the surgeon yet but when I called to make an appointment the office sent me alot of paperwork to fill out first. I did go to one of Dr. Caruana's seminars a while ago and I found out that he didn't do the lap band procedure (which is the one I would like to have). That is why I figured I would go to Dr. Posner since he does that procedure and is in the area. Thanks for the heads up Debi S in regards to that 3 month long diet... I have already done South Beach diet and didn't do very well with it... Maybe I should look into another doctor
