Anyone a patient of Dr. Gregory F. Dakin?

Is there anyone who is or has been a patient of Gregory F. Dakin of Cornell University/New York Presbyterian Hospital?  I just would like to know which surgery you had and what your experience with him was. He's my surgeon but I'm in the process of my six-month medically supervised diet along with nutritional counseling and would just like to know what people think of him.  I'm planning on getting the lap band.  Thanks, in advance, for your help.

I only had to do 3 months with Liz because it is the surgeons office, the six month requirement is with the pcp , the surgeon is only 3 ,  See u around the hall, maybe.

Walter, thank you for your response. Which surgery did you have, RNY or lap band? And what did you think of Dakin? How did your surgery go? Any complications? How was your hospital stay? Did he check up on you in the hospital? Was your pain adequately managed? Was he responsive to your requests for pain medication or other prescriptions? I'd like more detail about your dealings with him as opposed to your pre-op preparation. Thank you.

I am still pre opt,  I have six comos, one of which is a fundia wrop which make the lap and rny not possible for me, so i require the DS, and it will be extreamly difficult, a proceedure that dr gagner has done previously and is reconized as being the best of the best, and doctor pomp has assisted him in doing it as well. dr dakin did not at the time have ds experience  nor have the experience for this complication, so he refered me to dr gagner. who will assist dr pomp, dr gagner does not take insurance.  you may wish to investigate the ds proceedure and discuss it with doctor dakin and jamie,.liz, about post op, life, results ectra,  i am a proponent for it over the rny,   http://www.obesityhelp.com/forums/DS/a,messageboard/board_id ,5357/
