weight/migraine correlation?
I get migraines. A lot. Seems like every ten-12 days, these days, minimum. They blur my vision, make clear thinking impossible, and leave me generally pained and distracted from everything - not useful a work, not useful at home, not fun anywhere. Plus, the medicines for it act as a sedative, which blows unless I'm getting one conveniently at bedtime.
I've heard a few people say that their migraines lessened after losing weight, but I haven;t heard much in the way of official correlation between obesity and migraines. Does anyone have any info or thoughts?
Because if this surgery has the added benefit of making the migraines go away, well, shoot. I might have to marry it.
I don't know about WLS, but I do know about diet. I was a terrible migraine sufferer for years. After I started the program for WLS and started on a low sugar, low fat diet. My headaches have mostly disappeared. I have not had one since before Christmas 2006. So, there must be some truth in it. I just never put my finger on one thing though.
I echo what Betsy said. I am a long time migrains sufferer and used to get them like 2 times a week minimum, the knock you down, make you throw up, wear your sunglasses in the house variety....so far (I am a bit over 3 months out) I have only had a total of 2 migraines and they weren't as intense as any I had experienced beforehand. The change in diet made a big difference, but the weight loss has enhanced it even more....Thank Goodness!!!! I hope you find relief too.
Wishing you the best,
Noralynn
