Stomach pain ( lap band)

Hi everyone,  Today is day 22 post op.  All has been going well for me.  I had a normal amount of pain for the first week I would say.  I only had to take pain meds for first 3 days.  My question is this....  Is it normal to still have pain around the access port at this point?  I mostly feel it when I get up or sit down.  Diffinately when I lay on my sides.  I have to prop a pillow under me to be able to lay on my side or it hurts really bad when I wake up.  Thanks for the insight... I don't wanta call my doctor again with a silly quesiton!   Sandra

I recall other lap banders say that it was kind of sensitive around the port area for a time, however, I did not have that procedure done so I can't be sure. CALL your surgeon. That is why you pay him. NO question is silly especially when it comes to your health. Diane~~

Hiya! Yes, it was a good month before the tenderness subsided on my port incision.  I wear underwire bras and was being poked by the wires, whi*****reased the discomfort.  Seems totally normal to me sweetie!

Hi again, Ok I'm not so concerned about it but I will check with Dr. Rivera just to make sure.  I'm sure he will say the same thing.   you are brave to wear the underwire for the "girls"  I have only done it once and that was just for a trip to home depot and macy's ( bout killed me)  LOL I am wearing a sports bra kind of thing with no underwire right now...since I am mostly home bound right now it works for me!  LOL
