Hello all my fellow New Yorkers,  It has been a while since I have posted on here, but today I feel the need topick your brains. ( well not really, lol but so to speak. hehehe) Anyway, here is my problem. I will be 13 weeks out of RNY tomorrow and I have lost 43pounds. I cannot help but feel that maybe something is wrong with me, or maybe I am doing something wrong. I llok on the May board at my fellow Mayersand most of them have lost between 50 and 80 by this point. Am I a weight loss failure again? this is all I can think of.  If you dont mind can some of you who are further along then me please tell me how much you lost by this point after your surgery. I figured that if I see some other people who are further then me that lsotthis slow also, but still did not fail, maybe i will feel better and get my motivation back. Thank you all *****spond in advance. Hugz Tina xoxo

Tina, everyone loses at different rates.  My dr and office staff told me I may not lose my weight as fast as others.  I didn't have as much to lose as some.  I just met the BMI requirement, it was almost too low to have the surgery.  I also had surgery in may.  I have lost 59 lbs, but that is with my pre-surgery weight loss included.  The important thing is, is that you are losing!!! Good Luck!!

OMG that's AWESOME!!!!  We all have different rates of loss and different amounts to lose.  Please don't be discouraged!  43 pounds over 13 weeks is GREAT!!!  I try not to take what others have lost to heart and just remember the above.  There are others who have lost much more than I have with their bands.  I take it a day at a time!  Please please be happy with your incredible success!  I think when people begin to feel like they've failed, they fall back into old habits and then hate themselves for it.  You're doing terrific sweetie!  Keep going in the direction you're headed!

Tina, I have to agree with everyone here and say try not to get too discouraged.  To say we won't experience any discouragment isn't always possible but coming and posting and talking will only help that!  When I logged on here yesterday I was really beginning to do the same.  I was told I would lose 1-2 lbs a day. While I thought that sounded like a lot and I told myself don't expect that I did.  Here I am 22 days out and 28lbs down and the math isn't matching up lol  But I am losing and I am having a lot of victory in terms of self control and 28 lbs is great!  I am following the others suggestions to you as well, so thank you for coming and sharing it helps a lot of us! Tina,

You are doing great.  I too agree with what everyone is saying on the boards........we all lose weight differently.  Keep up the good work and don't lose faith.

Tina, Yes, don't worry...its a process...everybody is different.  I had my surgery 5/10 and have lost 55 pounds.  I go through plateaus...but, I am losing...the important thing.  Keep the faith! Rosemary

Tina, we had surgery the same day. I am down 49 lbs. & feel the same as you do sometimes. S-l-o-w really stinks. My girlfriend had same surgery, same doc 2 days after me & she's down 47 lbs. The foods we can/can't eat are so different. She's barely exercising & has lost almost as much as me. Not fair! I have to stop and remind myself not to compare me to others. Although we losers are a lot a like we still differ.  Sending you positive energy from Southwestern NY
