I have always been a terrific healer. However, the laparoscopic scars are not fading as fast as I'd like. Not that I'm gonna wear a bikini any time soon....but I was just wondering about everyone elses????  Any hints on how to help them along? Will they be gone before "Playboy" calls for a photo shoot? Take Care~~ Diane

Hi sweetie!

My surgery was May 8th...mine are still pretty red, unfaded as well.  They itch now and then too...I feel like a man sitting on the couch scratching...not meant to offend you men Playboy called and told me they like our scars!

Dinae LMAO at your Playboy comment!  You are too darn cute.  I use Mederma.  That is what I have used on my kids...and me.   My little battle scars look good to me.  I think they fade some over time.

I've been using shea butter with decent results. The scars are lightening and they are not hard or firm. If I run my fingers across my skin without looking; I would not be able to tell where the scars are. You only need to use a little bit; and it really moisturizes the area.

No temptation has seized you except what is common to man. And God is faithful; He will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, He will also provide a way out so that you can stand up under it.

Hmmm. Good suggestions. I don't know why it bothers me because pretty soon "The Girls" are gonna cover my whole midriff anyway. They are going south really fast. Talk to you soon~ Diane

My scars are still pretty pink too.  My mom always swore cocoa butter would fade them, but it's not in my case.  Anyway, I know what you mean about the girls.  I went bra shopping the other day.  In the past I haven't worn underwires because they poked my ribs.  I am giving them a try.  My daughter and hubby told me they do make a difference.

I had my surgery 4 years ago and once the tummy say the sun and got alittle tan, you would never know they were there. I had Lap RNY on 7/11/03, emergency gall bladder removal on 6/21/04 & emergency hernia surgery on 4/10/07. The only marks that are noticeable are the ones from this years hernia surger. By next year I expect they will be gone also ( well not gone, but unseen. )I can't even find my original RNY scars, and I know about where they were. To anyone else it looks normal. Betty Jo 196 Lbs & 283 inches gone.
