http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/20395008/ Although the term "Stomach Stapling" is old as Moses...it's about time WLS gets the positive press it deserves! Here is a snippet from the article, which is really worth reading in it's entirety!

First long-term findings may mean more surgeries are covered by insurance

LOS ANGELES - The first long-term studies of stomach stapling and other radical obesity treatments show that they not only lead to lasting weight loss but also dramatically improve survival. The results are expected to lead to more such operations, possibly for less severely obese people, too.

HUGS TO EVERYONE!!! -Karen

Thanks Karen.  It is really becoming a very wide-spread topic.  There was a spot on our local news yesterday too!

YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!  Awesome, Karen!!!   I feel this way about LAP BAND!!!!  If a surgery fails, meaning we don't lose weight or gain it back...why is it the procedures fault??????????  Isn't it the person who can't do what they need to do with the tool they've been provided through surgery???   That comparison article you occasionally post is ticks me off and makes me laugh!  LOL  Just like a hammer, if you don't use the tool properly, it AIN'T gonna work...LLL I want a positive article on banding now!!!!!!!

I heard about it because my brother (Who was not so thrilled about WLS) sent me the same E-mail. I think that is was pretty nice of him to do that in despite his original stance on the subject. The "Old Bro" is comin' around. Thanks, Karen. See you soon and Be Well~~ Diane
