Hi Guys, I haven't posted here, because I had my surgery in California, where I'm originally from. I'm moving back to NYC in late August, and need a suggestion for a doctor for follow-up care, (I'll be 7 weeks post-op when I return to NY). I have HealthNet Insurance, and it looks like NYU is very good. Anyone care to shed some light on who I should see? Thanks! Shira

My surgeon is very very well regarded and so is his wife.  His name is George Fielding - NYU; and his wife is also at the same office @ NYU and her name is Christine Ren If you Google them, you will find out more about them.  Dr. Fielding is really nice and he has done like 4K surgeries. Keep in touch! :)

I went to their seminar, and know they are very good. I was just wondering about other options :-) I'm also partial to NYU considering I'm undergrad there.

My surgeon is Dr. Mitchel Roslin and I too have HealthNet Insurance which he accepts in full.  Dr. Roslin is amazing at what he does & doesn't force or press his patients into one surgery he does them all and his office staff is AMAZING!! No one will blow smoke up your skirt. There are alot of WLS doctors here in NYC and I recommend mine because I've met the ones from NYU, Mt Sinai, St Lukes, Harlem Hospital & Columbia.  What too many doctors won't tell you is how many patients have died, had complications, etc... and for me when they wouldn't tell me I immediately left--if a doctor can't and won't answer those questions--they sure "ain't" cutting me open. SO anyhow welcome to NYC, if you would like to met after you get settled I'd love to have a RNY friend.

201 pounds lost since surgery!! And I'm 2 1/2 inches taller too!!

And YES I still eat Carbs and Fats but I know what portion control is!!

Surgery Date: 6/5/07

I also suggest asking Dr Q who he would suggest you see in NYC ... Many bariatric surgeons are familiar with each other and each other's work, having been to the ASBS conferences, etc.  Welcome back to NYC ... Good luck and God bless.
