High Glucose Levels & Surgery Postponement
Hello all, thank you for all the well wishes for my 8/14/07 date. I found out my pre-op glucose level was at 359 and Dr. Garber said they usually do not operate if the glucose is over 200. I only found out I had diabetes last month and my dr. didn't prescribe any meds because I was having the surgery so soon. My glucose at that time was 274. I knew it was really high when I had the preop testing done because I think I drank almost 3 gallons of water, who knew you could drink so much. I've been watching what I've been eating for the past 3 days and left a message with dr. garber if I should still see my dr. for clearance or if he is going to postpone surgery. Talk about being nervous and getting yourself all psyched and now who knows how long I'll have to wait if they have to reschedule. I know it's for my own benefit to wait if Dr. Garber says to wait but I still can't help being disappointed. Thank you for "listening". I'll keep everyone posted.

I'm sorry to hear that your surgery has been postponed. I definately can relate to what your going thru b/c as you already know my surgery for Tuesday is up in the air. I have a doctor appt with the cardiologist at 12N and hope that he will clear me. Keep your chin up before you know it.....your time will be here.
