August 14 is almost here!!!!

After reading everyone's posts and sitting silently on the sidelines, I am speaking out today!!    Tuesday is my big day and it couldn't come fast enough.  When I first got my date it seemed so far away and now here it is in 4 days.    Dr. Garber will be doing the honors and I'll be in Mercy Hospital in Rockville Centre.  I'm getting a bit nervous but am so ready to join the loser's bench so please move over and make some room for me.    If anyone is the area during my stay I would love to have an Angel.    Just hearing from someone who's been there would be a great mood lifter.  You all give me hope that there is life after obesity!!!      Have a great weekend!! Jessica, It is very normal to be anxious...I was terrified right up to the time they put me out...But, don't fret...once it is over..you will be thrilled...even with the pain....Good Luck...we'll be here if you need us! Rosemary

Welcome!  Congrats on your Big Day!!  Still waiting to get my date, but ins. is  approved, so  that's good.  Not in your area and haven't had surgery yet, so can't be your angel, BUT will be thinking of you on Tuesday and hoping for an uneventful surgery and quick recovery.   LisaD

Congrats on your date, Jess! I'm glad you jumped onto the field!  You'll do just great with your surgery. High emotions are very typical!  Plenty of room for ya to join the bench!! We'll leave the light on for ya...LOL

Jessica, Aren't these folks awesome? I recently came out of "hiding" too & everyone here has been very nice!! I am just starting on my journey - about 9 weeks to go - and I am so excited about the changes to come!! Good luck on Tuesday!! Do some fun things this weekend to distract yourself & before you know it you'll be all done!!!  Cece

Hi Jessica, Congratulations on your upcoming surgery. Dr. Garber was my surgeon too :o) I wish you much success!  It's normal to be nervous. You will be walking every 2 hours - Anna wasn't kidding - when you get home you will be ready for a good  snooze ... Just follow the rules and you will be fine. Hugs, Britt

Hi Jessica, I just recently joined the losers bench and it is the BEST feeling EVER!!!!!  I had lap band about 2 weeks ago with Dr Holover and Dr Garber!!!!!  THEY ROCK!!!   I am here for you if you need ANYTHING!!!!!  It is super scary but sooooooooo worth it!  Drop me an email if you need anything and I am so proud to be sharing this incrdible journey with you!  The staff at Mecry was great and very helpful....they wake you every 2 hrs  and you want to knock them out but they are GREAT!!!!!  If you have any questions that I can answer we can go to the losers bench together!!! congrats on your date coming so fast... i have a lil ways to go (sept 4th).. the whole summer has flown by and these next few weeks are going to D R A G G G G G! i don't have a formal OH angel either, not really sure how u go about getting one or what exactly they would do?
