Lap band AFTER bypass
Im just curious can someone have the lap band surgery after having the bypass? I had bypass in Nov 2001 and went from 350 to 170. But in the past couple of years Ive gotten myself up to 238 and Im disguested with myself. Now Im trying to watch what I eat and Im working out 5 days a week and it doesnt seem to be moving the scale. I dont know what to do!!!

Hun that is great that you are thinking on taking care of this before it goes back to your starting weight! I know that take so much courage!!! I know that people think we can not gain out weight back but they are wrong! We all know this now and it is a struggle every day! Also great that you are working out and eating better
You should feel great that you are taking control!
This is a great question and I hope someone could let us all know. I would call your surgeon (if they do the lapband) or a surgeon that does, PLEASE keep us posted!

You might want to look into the Stomaphix procedure. Dr. Garber and Dr. Holover in New Hyde Park are doing it. It is done via endoscopy and it significantly reduces the size of your pouch as well as the opening. Check out their website at:

It sounds great for people in your situation. My mom is currently looking into the procedure herself as she is many years post-op and has gained at least 80 pounds.
Good luc****ep us informed of your progress!
Take care,
Lisa
