You had the lap band, how well are you doing? Did you have trouble after surgery, Dr Kim told me I won't lose any weight for 2 weeks, b/c of the fill. That makes me nervous, I want the restriction right away.
I work for both Dr's at their gen surg practice, know both of them well.
Dr Kim and I had long talks about the lap band vs the bypass, he felt that the band would be better. I don't know anyone who was banded just bypass. How much have you lost, when was your surg? What do you eat? I had the "last supper" issues about 3 weeks ago, so I gained 8 lbs, still have 6 to lose, been bustin' my butt at the gym and got myself back on track, but getting frustrated, any suggestions? Did you go through that?
Well, I can only speak for myself, but I think Dr. Kim is full of beans. LOL
I have done incredible! 2 days after surgery I was raking my lawn, 3 weeks after surgery I was back at CURVES to work out.
Look through my profile to see the pattern of my loss. I lost loads, going from a size 24 to a 16 before my 1st fill! I just finished my dinner, grilled fish and potatoes. I'm 3 months out and have now hit a solid 16, some 14s. I actually have a size 14 dress that's HUGE on me. By choice I have stayed away from pasta and sushi. I know they're my weaknesses. Someday I will have both, but I prefer to wait. Add me, I'll answer anything I can! As for the LAST SUPPER...I had what was at that time my "normal" portions of pasta, sushi and pizza/wings. I didn't go more crazy that I already was with the portion sizes. I have a friend who gained loads "pigging" out. I lost 17 pounds prior to surgery...lol

My problem is I gained about 8 lbs and still have 6 to come off before surgery, I'm afraid he won't do my surgery if I weigh more than the last time I saw him. I am trying to get rid of it, working out like crazy and not eating between meals, etc... That is another reason that I'm concerned b/c if I can't keep it off before surgery, how the heck am I gonna keep it off after. Hopefully once I attend the meeting this month I will feel better about everything. I'm just really disappointed in my self b/c I've come so far and don't want all this to be for nothing.
Reading your email gives me much encouragement though, thanx
Aww sweetie,
Don't beat yourself up.
Make sure you're getting loads of water in, watch the calories in any other fluids you consume. Sounds like you're doing fine with the working out and watching what you eat at meal time, no snacks.
Have faith! I can't imagine if you've only gained 1 - 2 lbs he will refuse to do the surgery. Hell, I fluctuate that any given day from am to pm, with water weight, etc. Well, after surgery, if you stick to the "diet", you won't gain weight. Your pouch won't permit it. It truly will be a life changing procedure! Eat until you're no longer hungry, not until you're full. It was a hard concept to get, but after surgery I got it! Measure your foods. Stay away from foods you know are your weaknesses. I know pasta and sushi are issues for me. Haven't had them!!!

Thank you so much for that advise. My weakness is chips and fast food, which are too expensive any way when you go out to eat alot. I haven't been out to eat in 2 weeks, so proud of myself. I buy the baked chips and they take away that urge. My working out keeps me positive too, you feel so much better when you work out.
You keep up the good work as well. I am glad to know you are doing well. I don't know anyone who was banded, my friend had the bypass last year and she's done great. I want the same success.
Thank you for your time.
