UPDATE ON BETTY-JEAN MACLACHANS SURGERY...

BETTY DID JUST GREAT.. WAS IN AND OUT WITHIN 1 1/2 HRS.......HER INSIDES WHERE PERFECT .. EVERYTHING WENT SMOOTHLY .. I AM VERY PLEASED WITH DR MOON AND TOTALLY READY FOR HIM TO DO MINE....LOL...........BUT SHE IS DOING GOOD..IN ICU FOR A LITTLE BIT THIS MORNING..SHE STAYED THERE OVERNITE......BUT SHE GOT UP AND WALKED LASTNITE...SAT UP.. HAD ICE CHIPS.....SO I WILL POST MORE WHEN I CALL HER THIS MORNING....THANKS FOR THE SUPPORT WITH HER..... ANY QUESTIONS FEEL FREE TO ASK ME......

Oh I'm soooo glad to hear all is going so well!!! I know AO is notoriously short on bed space. They told me I might have to stay in the "holding area" if a bed wasn't available after surgery, but thankfully one opened up. Tell her I wish her good sleeps, comfort and I'll see her tomorrow!

I went to see her today when I had my pre-ops.  She looked great and wasn't in too much pain.  She was still in the ICU because there was no where else to put her.  This was the first time that we met, and bless her heart, she showed me all of her tubes and drains and incisions without me even asking to see them.  She also paid me a compliment by telling me I don't look "big" to her!   It was great to meet her and to know that she's doing well.  I saw Dr. Moon this afternoon and he thought it was so cool that we internet friends support eachother like this.  

THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR GOING TO SEE HER, I FEEL SOO SOO BAD THAT I HAD TO LEAVE HER LIKE THAT... BUT I HAVE MY KIDS I DO NOT HAVE ANYONE TO WATCH THEM FOR THAT MANY DAYS....I WISH I COULD BE BY HER SIDE EVERY SECOND THRU ALL THIS .....WHEN IS UR SURGERY? AND HOW DID HER INCISIONS AND STUFF LOOK? I DIDNT GET TO SEE THEM SHE WAS NOT IN THE GREATEST CONIDTION WHEN WE LEFT........WAS JUST GETTING USED TO EVERYTHING...I CALLED HER A LIL WHILE AGO AND SHE SAID THEY JUST GAVE HER PAIN MEDS AND SHE WAS GETTING SLEEPY SO I WILL CALL HER LATERZ.......... YAH SHE TELLS ME IM NOT BIG EITHER AND THAT I DONT NEED IT.. EVERYONE SAYS THAT TO ME.. BUT I FEEL LIKE A BEACHED WHALE...DO YOU HAVE A PIC.. THAT I CAN SEE....? I DIDNT SEE ONE ON PROFILE... ADD ME.... AND IF ANYONE HAS YAHOO MESSENGER AND WOULD LIKE TO TALK MY ID IS MOMMIES_N_CUBS ...TTYL..THANKS FOR ALL THE SUPPORT.

I thought her stuff looked fine.  Little bit of bleeding on the gauze on the incision sites, but not much.  The drainage tube is kinda gross...it looks like a purplish/maroonish liquid in that bulb.   I will add you, and I'll put up some pictures too.  I just had my daughter take a bunch of "befores" for me.   Betty said that she had another friend who was coming to visit her too, and then before you know it, it will be time for her to go home.  She was very sleepy, so I only stayed a few minutes, but she really seemed good to me.

SO GLAD TO HEAR THAT SHE IS DOING WELL.  MY THOUGHTS AND PRAYERS ARE WITH HER.

WELL SHE HAD HER LEAK TEST AND EVERYTHING LOOKED GOOD...NO LEAKS SO FAR..AND PROBABLY WONT BE ANY ........SHE WASNT IN MUCH PAIN.AND IS ENJOYING HER ICE CHIPS AND GETTIN HER CATHEDER OUT .... SO THATS WHAT I KNOW AS OF TODAY. I WILL CALL HER TOMORROW
