Just what I want to do is sit in a ER today!
Anyways they did blood work and a rectal, no hemroids (duh! I could of told ya that!) Blood work was fine. So they sent me home and said Dr C will see me tomorrow and refer me for a Colonoscopy!!
GREAT!!
I new I would be one of the people who would have complications from RNY...I just knew it!! I can never do anything the easy way!! grrrrrrrrr
Sorry....I had to vent!! Thaks for listening!!

Hi Debi,  I just wanted to let you know I had the same thing. How post op are you? This happened to me about 5 days out I was having pure bloody watery stools. I was freaked out. I called the Dr. and I went to the ER as well I was admitted and my blood work was monitored for 2 days. Did they say any thing about your hematocrit? Mine decreased somewhat but the Dr. reassured me that most of these resolve on their own which thankfully it did. I still don't know where it came from he said it could have been from the remnant stomach who knows anyway I am fine today 3.5 months post op anyway let me know if this helps or if you have anymore questions. hugs Lori

Hi Lori,
Thanks for the kind words. It happened yesterday at 11 days post-op. The funny thing is I feel fine. I was just scared to see that much red blood. My first BM was jet black which also scared me but they said that was dried blood left over from the surgery. So when I seen RED I freaked!! Hopefully it s what you said and I won't have any more problems!! Cross your fingers!!

Debi, so sory you are still not well. It's frustrating waiting while the pros rule everything out, but you are in good hands with Caruana. And the venting, no big deal, part of the reason we are here.

Debi, sorry this is happening to you. Having had a stricture, I know how disappointing it is to have a problem early out.

As someone else said, the worst part of the colonoscopy is the bowel prep, then it's nothing.
Hopefully they won't find anything!

Hugs,
 Karen
