I am waiting approval for lap-band surgery. I have some scar tissue from  c- sections I had 18 yrs ago. They are not the bikini kind , but are the vertical  straight down from belly button down. Do you think they will have trouble doing the  surgery due to the scar tissue ?? Has anyone had the same problem. ??? Love to  any info u have.. +++++KAREN+++

I don't know about Lap-band,  but I had open RNY, no problem with having 2 c-sections from belly button down.  Now I just have a scar from my breastbone all the way down. Shannon

Shannon. Thanks for the info. I was hoping not to have the open surgery. But if that is the only choice they give me it might have to be. Thanks again ++++Karen++++

I was worried about similar prior to surgery. I had adhesions (scar tissue) from 3 abdominal female type surgeries. I discussed it w/ my doc who had no concerns at all. Even after that discussion I was worried. Now I am 2 months out down 36 lbs & the doc was right. I had lap RNY & am so glad I did it! Make sure you bring up your concerns to your surgeon, but for the most part, I'm betting you have nothing to worry about.

Hello  I just had my surgery 1 week ago today.  I had 1 bikini line surgery ,gallbladder removal and I have  a lumbar peritoneal shunt in my abdomen. My Dr said that the scar tissue was major and my intestines were actually attached to my abdominal wall. He said it was no problem it just extended  my surgery 1hr. 1week pre op and the only pain im having is where he cut away the scar tissue in my lower abdomen.  Oh yeah the surgery was done laproscopially (sp)  Wishing you the best of luck    Evelyn

Hello Karen  I had the bypass, once I looked into all the methods it seemed the safest for me.  Thank you for the well wishes and I will keep you posted. :-)
